Hi porcupine puffer has a eye infection. What antibiotics can be used with CP? Thanks

You should be ok using erithromycin but be very careful to watch for oxygen depletion and with chloroquine + abx there’s always an increased risk of side effects so watch the fish and be ready to do water changes.

What about kanaplex or metro? Erythromycin is hard to get. Thanks

I frequently use nitrofurazone with CP.

Thanks , yeah i started with metro just wanted the best alternative because it would be tricky to switch with the CP in the water.

Most antibiotics will work fine with chloroquine, although, at least in humans, when the two are combined the side effects of both tend to be more pronounced - likely due to a somewhat similar mechanism of action. We don’t have enough studies on what happens with fish so make sure to observe. Good luck!
