I was scheduled to receive two fish 2 weeks ago but unfortunately the supplier called the day of the shipment and gave me some excuse about the new laws in Hawaii and their new supplier. The bottom line they were unable to ship the fish and wanted to observe them for "a few days". I had set my QT up with CP and a sponge from my sump.

Fast forward, last night they call and want to ship for arrival today. With everything going on right now I really didn't have much choice but to say ok. My QT does not have a light on it, only ambient light in the room. Is my CP still good? I plan to treat 2 weeks in CP and then move to a remote sterile cycled QT I keep set up for observation of fish completing treatment for Ich and Velvet.

Light is not really needed on a qt. I would say if you are worried do a water change with cp in the water.
Question why are you putting the fish right in cp as soon as it reach

A metabolite of chloroquine – hydroxycloroquine – has a long half-life of 32–56 days; so I made the assumption that CP is "good" for at least 30 days once dosed in water IF dosed @ 60mg/gal. (Minimum therapeutic dosage for CP is 40mg/gal.)

My assumption was further backed up by a public aquarium I advise who reports only minimal degradation after 30 days.

I agree with above. I too have discussed CP with a public aquarium that uses CP and they test for it and claim degradation is very slow.

Do a water change with CP at the correct level and you should be good.

As far as degradation from light, a pharmacist at diamondback told me this is only a problem if the powder is exposed to light.

What kind of fish are coming? I always like your taste in fish so I am curious!

I have had a couple of bad experiences with velvet in the last year and I've not had any problem with CP affecting appetite. So, my practice has become to treat with CP as soon as they arrive. So far it's worked very well.

I just didn't know whether to dose any water change water with the standard dose of CP or increase due to what's not being replaced being degraded.

Gold Rim Tang and a female flame wrasse......trying to contribute to @Humblefish 's data on wrasses and CP. :)

Yep that discussion is my reason for no light on this QT tank.

Thanks guys. I'll do a 50% water change later today.

I haven't run enough wrasses thru CP to be 100% sure about this, but here is what I think:

Halichoeres and Cirrhilabrus (Fairy Wrasses) are OK in CP.

Pseudocheilinus (e.g. Sixline) and Paracheilinus (Flasher Wrasses) are NOT safe in CP.
