CP & Seachem Paraguard....ok together?

Hi all,

I'm 8 days into prophylactic treatment in QT using CP. My clownfish pair got a little nasty towards each other (ok now though) and one of the developed what I thought was lymphocytosis. However it seems to be getting bigger, is fuzzy and almost has thr appearance of it hanging off, tail is intact around it. So I'm now thinking it's a fungal infection.

I'm in the UK and looking at using seaSeac Paraguard, few questions:
1) is this the best option?
2) can it be used in Qt with CP?
3) if not are baths ok to return back to Qt?

Can you post pics? Fungal infections are somewhat rare in marine fish. If it’s lympho, Paraguard won’t help. If it is fungal you are probably better off with antibiotics such as kanaplex.

I’m not sure if it’s safe to combine paraguard with CP as we don’t know what’s in it, I would do baths.

I believe para guard contains malachite green, and some other proprietary ingredients. I would not mix simply because the ingredients are not known and there is no way of knowing how they react together.

It could be bacterial from the pictures. A safer method to treat a bacteria infection would be to feed antibiotic coated foods. Use seachem focus to bind the antibiotics to the food. +1 on using kanaplex.
