I dosed a heaping 1/4 tsp. to 10 gallons on day 1. That's close to 90mg.

Day 4 I did 100% water change and redosed another heaping 1/4 tsp. per the 10 gallon tank.

Day 5-6 tang not swimming around much. Noted color fading on bottom of stomach and towards tail. Tang on bottom of tank in same spot.

Day 7 medication stopped. 100% water change. Regal moved to new tank. Cupramine started.

Day 8 Regal tang more active. Added slightly more Cupramine. Developing a red / maroon color on yellow part of tail. Hard to say if it's Velvet, developing bacterial infection, or something else.

Will keep the updates coming. Do keep in mind these fish came out of a known tank with Velvet as documented in the previous video.

Hi Jared! I think it's safe to say that Regal tang did not react well to the CP or the CP wasn't doing the job. It's hard to say really since I think you said you sourced your CP from ebay or something like that right? It wasn't an Rx? I don't see the redness on the tail that you are talking about but I do see the whiteness under the back end.

Yes, it certainly appears that way. The large pale spot and color on the tail is tweaking my mind. I can't say for sure about one thing or the other, but I'll definitely be interested to treat another Regal tang with the same dose. As far as the medication, I do feel it's working. It was purchased from "jweage" on eBay. No Rx.

Blue tang was dead this evening when I returned home. Makes me think Velvet now because he started to do well and now he's dead. Wasn't able to get the copper to therapeutic level fast enough. Of course, I don't know. Could be anything. It's possible that I overdosed, but you'd think he would have not started to do better or just died in the CP tank. Who knows... What you guys think? He's super skinny but only stopped eating for just a few days. Hmmm...

I think it's difficult to tell what actually did it. But he started to go downhill while in the CP tank. I figure it could be either velvet or the CP. It's a coin flip

Yeah, I'll definitely be documenting all treatments with video in case it happens again. I'm gonna try to keep going with 80mg per 10/G. If I have anymore reactions i'll post video and note the time it took for fish to quit eating or whatever. As far as the Regal dying, it's a coin flip like melyper said...really no way to know for sure. I am baffled how he started doing better that morning with marked improvement and then the next day he's dead.

This is an old thread but wanted to respond as I just got a bag of cp that also said 1/4 tsp per 10 gallons..

1/4 tsp is actually 1250mg. That comes out to 125mg/gallon, which is double the 60mg/g recommended.

Also i noticed the large aquarium instructions more in line at 50g per 800 gallons, which is around 62mg/g.

Could be why the fish didnt respond well.
