Ive got two gobies & two scissorstails In a QT with Cp. can Cq be used simultaneously with maracyn two? If not Will cp treat bacterial gill diseases ?trying to get more pics, subject matter isn't cooperating.

You can use powder antibiotics with CP, including Maracyn Two. However, I recommend something more inclusive like Kanaplex or Furan-2.

Thanks again you are an awesome source.i did not mention they have been in in low salinety as well at 1.009 for 2 weeks

So far The 4 fish are activly eating, the water is so murky that it's hard to tell if the redness of the gills is diminishing.

Do you have a power filter on there? A small powerhead or air stone? Are they still at hypo and are you using CP and antibiotics right now?

I do believe it's a bio wheel , & a bubbler as well still at 1009 hypo ant Cp with maracyn two

I'm worried about the cloudy water. A bacterial bloom can happen when mixing meds and will suck the O2 out of the water pretty quick. I would advise a water change in there and upping all gas exchange efforts in the mean time.

The maracyn two always seems to cloud things up. They are not breathing heavy. They've been in hypo QT for 2 weeks 6 days with Cq and because the redness/ inflammation of the gills was not going away maracyn two 3 days .

Maracyn 2 will cloud up the water pretty badly. It used to not be this way, so Fritz must have changed the formulation. Straight Minocycline (active ingredient in Maracyn 2) doesn't cloud the water anywhere near as much, but that is getting harder to find.

Thanks. Very much. If you'd like I can keep you posted on how this progresses, I know in a few days I have to get the maracyn out, either charcoal or water change not sure yet which.

So filled a 10 g bucket with hypo & 500mg Cq TTM all4 fish into 10 g bucket. 100% hypo water change on 20g QT to get maracyn out of the system.= made 10 g hypo with Cq into QT and then add 10g bucket with the fish. The swordtails & Gobies look good activly eating and swimming

So far the scissortails and gobies are eating and active the scissortails are still flashing but the only ones .im thinking of removing theCp from the system but only if. The life cycle for brook and velvet have been broken, keeping them in hypo and start treatment with prazipro we picked up some fire fish yesterday, probably start them in hypo/Cp tomorrow.

Things are looking good. Keep going with the CP for the full 30 days. Be sure not to combine liquid prazipro with CP. You can use the powdered form in General Cure.

Yesterday morning the orange spot Gobi was a code 4 ,found DOB. Changed water, (still hypo at 1009 ) filter etc, removed Cp, started the remaining fish on prasipro 24 hrs later they are flashing noticeably less and the red gills are no longer red.

Well today the scissortails & cleaner Gobi go in the DT , after using the prazipro calculator provided by Humblefish, the QT was extended by 2 days, so they were tested with hypo Cp prazipro and maracyn two
