Thanks, things will look so much better when they grow out. I have room for 5-7 more frags of sps and will probably take a few out that aren't coloring up to my expectations. I'll keep doing monthly FTS though.Looks really good I will say that

Last night my daughter dumped half a bottle of kids soap in my tank. I thought my tank was going to crash but after multiple 5 gallon water changes and staying up all night removing soap bubbles that the skimmer created I think the tank is doing much better.
I will still keep a close eye on things but I lost 3 blue/green reef chromis and 1 helfrichi firefish.
All of the corals still look good and I didn't lose a single one. Only time will tell on long term effects though.

Thanks for asking.
Surprisingly very well. I only lost 4 fish and I didn't lose any corals. I really dodged a bullet on that one.
I really think the reason I had so few losses was because I caught it early enough to try and fix it.
The Night of the Incident:
I didn't have any freshly made salt water on hand so I quickly made 10-15 gallons and did a few small 5 gallon water changes as well as manually removing any soap bubbles the skimmer made until it didn't make any more soap bubbles. I also added 250mL of BRS Carbon to a reactor.
The Day After the Incident:
I made another 10 gallons of salt water and did two more 5 gallon water changes.
After Effects:
I am noticing some film algae that wasn't in my tank before, (i think it came from bacteria dying off), and I am noticing some cyano in various places as well. None of my corals have stn'd or rtn'd at all. Everything else looks to be in great health now.
Conclusion:
If this ever happens to anyone on here I really hope you catch it early like I did and that you don't have many fish or coral losses! My heart was sinking literally all night at the thought of my entire tank wiping after looking so good and everything growing so well.

That's good news. I would've thought that would have been catastrophic. I would of been worried all night too, your coral are looking like they are ready to take off.

I thought so too! My heart had that sinking feeling like if you were to jump off a bridge with a bungie cord thinking you were going to die. It felt like that.
Before the soap incident everything was growing like crazy and all kinds of new shoots were popping up. I won't know how the soap affected growth but for now it doesn't appear to have affected anything but all, not even color. My corals are still looking great and colored up well.
My frags have tripled to quadrupled in size since buying them. I cannot wait until they get a bit larger so I can frag them for my frag tank and have two colonies growing. It'll probably be another year before I can propagate for sale.

Update!
I decided to have the aquascape redone. Many thanks to JesterSix, for coming over and rebuilding my scape! I am very happy with the scape compared to before. I originally wanted to do a bonsai scape but I honestly am not very artistic so it didn't happen.
All the corals were moved to the frag tank until I can remove all of the sand. I decided to go bare bottom and will be removing 5 gallons of water/sand at a time until it is all gone. All sand should be gone by the end of this month.
Along a different note... I decided to remove the overflow in my spare reefer 170 display. Can you guess what I am planning to do with it?

Here is some progress on the tank upgrade.
This picture is of some 1/4" starboard installed and siliconed in place to raise the bottom to meet the bulkhead assembly. I only did so there wasn't any flex with the starboard from back to front. I wanted a flat surface. Anything could have been used but starboard is cheap so I went with that.
This is a picture of what it will look like before I install the ghost overflow. I am still waiting for the black silicon which is due tomorrow. My plan is to use a nice bead of black silicon along all the edges and on the 3 bulkhead openings where the teeth are as well as on the bottom piece of starboard to glue it in place. In theory placing a nice bead of silicon along the all edges and then placing the starboard down will create a nice seal and then I will just clean it up with my finger or something small. I will show you a finished product within a few days.
I plan on water testing it probably after a week or two of curing, even though that long really isn't needed.
