CPR aqaufuge2-small

I use the CPR aquafuge (Large) for my 55 gallon tank. The skimmer does not connect to it. You would have to have a HOB skimmer and hang both the skimmer and the refugium off the back of the tank.

It sounds like you want a sump to house your equipment. Can you add a sump to the inside of the stand? It would make things simpler.

I would like to add a sump underneath my stand but I would need to see if I could modify my stand because I have a metal mesh type thing underneath and that wouldn't hold a sump so maybe I could screw a piece wood in place of that. And the stand is not enclosed either

I by no means an expert...but I am not sure that stand will support a saltwater tank. Not convinces it will hold the tank empty

Yeah, I'm going to have to second that. I'm certainly not an expert though. Remember that each gallon of water weighs approx 8lbs...you then need about 1lb of rock per gallon of tank, and 1lb of substrate per gallon.... Then add any pumps, power-heads, skimmers, heaters, lights, etc and you want to add a sump?? That's a lot of weight on those little legs

You should build a stand out of 2x4s and then skin it with something. Build a space underneath for a sump. Those HOB refugiums are quite pricey. I'd rather put that money into a sump.

+1. I think in the long run you would much much happier and better off with a DIY stand.

So is there anything I could do with this stand or no

Ive seen those stand before. They are actual aquarium stands. They will hold the tank just fine. Not underneth though. As for the skimmer/fuge just get a combo unit from CPR. CPR AQUATIC, INC - AQUAFUGE â„¢ PS

There is a site called Aquatraders that sells a knock-off of the one I linked. It works just fine and is almost an exact replica of the CPR one. Now, what do you plan on keeping in this tank? You may be able to do without one or the other.

some lps, zoanthids, a pair of mocha clowns, a 6 line wrasse some shrimp and a watchman goby and some snails

For the aquatraders hang on back refugium/skimmer, ive heard that skimmers and sumps clear your water when it get cloude from adding it and they say it makes your water crystal clear is this cabable of doing this and is the skimmer big enought for my 29 gallon tank? Also can i use this as a hang on back sump. Also would this be all i need to buy for my filtration.

Either this
Filtration - Reef - Hang On Refugium with Protein Skimmer
or this
Filtration - Reef - Hang On Refugium with Protein Skimmer

Pick one based on what size you can fit. Yes, it's all the filtration you would need for your set up. Add a bit of macro algae like cheato to the fuge section. You will need a light for the top of it though. For your particular setup, you could even get away without a skimmer and just use a good HOB filter like a aquaclear. Just make sure to clean the filter out weekly when you do you water changes and you'll be good to go. of course that IMO, others may tell you Im wrong.

does anyone have any opinions on my stand because my dad said that the stand is made of solid steel and we both sat on it with all of our weight and nothing happened to it so does anyone have anything to say to that because I think that will be a fine stand

That stand would be fine. As someone else pointed out, it is designed for aquarium use. I made the suggestion to DIY the stand because it gives you the option of creating an area for a sump. Aquariums, especially salt water, have a lot of equipment. An open stand like your metal one does not hide anything. I think in the long run you are going to regret not making a nice enclosed DIY stand perhaps even a canopy with it. The point of the tank is an enjoyable visual experience on those rare occasions when you take time out from your husbandry duties to admire the work of art that you created. Looking at wires, heaters, return lines and all other manor of "stuff" sticking out of and into the aquarium is going to seriously detract from that experience.

I have the PSK-75h and the CPR2 (on separate tanks) and I would not hang that skimmer from the CPR. That would put a lot of pressure on the acrylic of the CPR back wall and several extra pounds of weight on the hangers. Not to mention that would mean your tank would have to be almost a foot away from the wall to fit both devices. If you're going HOB, definitely look at an all in one unit.

I think you were maybe thinking about the aquafuge with the built in skimmer.

Anyway I don't like them I had a aquafuge on my tank a long time ago and the bracket broke that held it to the tank.. I came home and found it hanging by the pluming... I never felt comfortable hang that much weight from the side of my tank. Tanks really are not made to handle those kinds of loads. A hang on skimmer is not that heavy but one of those large aqaufuges are pretty heavy.
