Hey everyone,

I have had the CPR Aquafuge for several months now. When deciding whether or not to buy it, I read a lot of reviews and several reviewers suggested replacing the submersible pump. The pump that was included in was a Rio 800. I have had no success in growing chaeto. I added a Kessil H80 light and still had no success in keeping the chaeto alive. I have noticed that the chaeto never tumbled in the fuge and a surface skim develops if I don't constantly clean my filter sponge.
My tank is a 50 breeder with 6 fish total (2 Clowns, 2 Firefish, Kamohara Blenny, and a Watchman Goby.) I plan on adding at least a couple more fish in the future. I also have several inverts (2 star fish, tuxedo urchin, pencil urchin, coral banded shrimp, pistol shrimp, strawberry crab, and assorted snails and hermits.) The tank has been running for several years now.
Phosphate tests 0
Nitrate test 60
Any help/suggests you guys can make will be greatly appreciated the goal being to get chaeto or another macro-algae to grow and reduce my nitrates. I am planning on switching up my water change routine to try to do 10 percent changes once weekly.

Thanks,

Travis

Double check your Po4 with a low range checker.
I’ve never tumbled chato, I have it growing in a diy aqua clear Refugium with diy leds.
It’s not the equipment.
