Cpr Bakpak

Hello Everyone
I am new to the site and thought I would ask a quick question.I have a 58 gal oceanic and I am running a CPR Bakpak 2 skimmer. I was wondering the left side is just the outlet to the tank .I still have the blue hair in it that came with it but I was wondering If I can use that for a refugium if I take out the plastic hair.

You can but space is so limited I'm sure you would be much happier getting the CPR aqua fuge, if it's doable for your tank/ tank budget.
