Hi all.

Just looking more for the advise than the ID itself... I've found this hitch-hiker crabbo and would like to know if it's possible one like this would kill/eat Peppermint Shrimps (as I've lost 2 lately and have not yet found the culprit.)

Should I just chuck this guy in the sump? Or is he safe enough to keep with the fish and corals/inverts?

Video for further clarity:

That's a good size crab . My choice would to put it in the sump. These guys (crabs in general) will eat whatever they can get their claw into !

So sounds like he could have been my Peppermint killer?

So I've got the rock that crab was in, and put it in the sump... But it's a good rock, lots of life. How does one get a crab out of said rock...? [emoji848] I've tried placing some food nearby but he hasn't budged all day!

Leave the rock above the water for a few minutes and go away so he has the chance to privately slip away. Be sure he has a place to go to that looks attractive.

I grabbed one out of a hole with some tweezers a day ago and it came out unscathed. Or, get a sharp stick!
