Crab ID Please

Looks like a red Mithrax crab (same species as emerald crab). Are the tops of the claws where they touch flat?

Thanks for the reply. They appear to be flat but it's hard to tell honestly.

Here's a decent pic of a red mithrax I found that shows what their claws look like. The flat parts are to help it pull algae off rocks. Yours looks similar, but maybe an invert expert can chime in.

I don’t know if it helps or Is true- but I’ve always heard - black claws = bad-
non-black claws usually ok...

I must have had one of these in my tank and didn’t know. I removed a rock that has a bit of bubble algea. Scraped algae, squirted hydrogen peroxide on it. Then rinsed in The sink. And put back. Next day I found a dried up crab like this on the counter top... poor little guy.

Thank you guys, I was having a panic attack. My one lil white emerald crab has molted twice and has gotten more red each time and now is the size of a half dollar.
