Sorry I can't get a great picture, its from a video on Instagram. My LFS got this weird crab in and I haven't gotten to the store to check it out. I think its pretty cool looking but I want to know what it is and if its reef safe.
If anybody knows what it is or has experience with them let me know please!

I'm a crab lover so I really liked this guy.. Waiting for my LFS to reply to my comment on the post but nothing yet.

He said it is a sponge crab from the Florida Keys. Gonna research

That's a type of decorator crab. Definitely not reef safe. I had two and they would clip off pieces of coral to wear but also eat polyps and whatnot.

Yeah he told me reef safe in that it won't eat corals but it will pull apart corals. He also said they get big and will be a danger to fish and inverts so I guess I'm gonna steer clear.. Shame, I love crabs a lot but 90% arent reef safe
