I would say to give these settings a shot

They're equivalent to the Ecotech AB+ and is known to grow corals. Just my opinion :)

Ok I’ll try that setting. Would I disturb my corals by changing the lights. Since they were used to these settings for few months?

Yes, you'll want to make the changes slowly.

How do I do that? Is their a setting on the prime for switches?
I think the prime comes with an acclimation mode. Not 100% as i have never owned one lol. I would like to one day though :)

Yeah they have that mode. I just apply the brs setting turn on the acclimation mode on. How long should I leave it on for or does it turn off automatically

Let it run as long as it'll let you. the slower the change the better

@Crabs Mcjones - just read your entire thread from start to finish. Thanks for sharing the journey with us. It will be nice to follow along when you build the 75 you've spoken about in this thread. Any idea when that will begin?

To give you an idea how long it's been since I've had anything, when I was running, MH + VHO (IceCap) was the ****. Had the setup on two of my tanks with hoods I built myself. Also had a 6ft (7ft with collection), pvc, homemade skimmer that performed very well. I gave one of the setups and the skimmer to a UW-Madison student who was studying marine biology.

Your 40B looks fantastic and I agree with you about the whole lighting debate. I've not set anything up yet but, when I do, I'll be running a thread similar to your thread here. Showing the good, bad and ugly! However, I'll not be chopping off one of my toes for added attention! Lol

Once again, thanks for sharing!

The 75 will come when I purchase a new house. My wife said once she gets a new house, I can get a new tank lol. It's in the works as we speak. Have some projects to finish up on our current house though before we can put it on the market. We have a basement wall that is buckled in, so 7 grand later that'll be fixed this winter ;Jawdrop

Buckled wall? Whoa! With a repair cost of $7k, I am imagining it is an exterior wall. Have you looked into fixing it yourself?

Also, are you a native to WI? If so, then I'm what you might refer to as a FIB or FISH! However, I did own a place just outside of New London on the Wolf. I also lived in the Luxemburg/Casco area for a number of years.

Yeah its an exterior wall, no repairing it myself, they're also putting in a sump (not the good kind lol) and a tiling system, so not to bad. And yes, born and raised in wisconsin so I know what both of thoes acronyms mean lol

What's the deal with 100% UV... I see people with the UV set high all the time on their AI's.. should I be doing the same with mine?

I have them running around 35%

Brs ran a spectrum test on them attempting to replicate the ab+ schedule from ecotech. This is where that test found them to achieve that I know this is my rationale for how mine are programmed anyway.

Will look forward to the 75 crabs :)

We are also house shopping, I was thinking an in wall 125 myself, size determined by i want a butterfly in it [emoji23]

Small update, but I'm super excited about it. For a long time now i've wanted to get my hands on an expensive acro, most of my current ones are 80 bucks and under. Don't get me wrong, I love them all equally, but there is one in particular i've always had my eye on. and it's finally happened.
I can finally say i'm the proud owner of my own little Walt Disney Tenius Acropora :D:D

Gratz , how do you like the color under my?
It's still new, I just added him yesterday. So far its looking good, but I expect it'll color up really nicely in the comming weeks :)

cool keep us posted. Curious on how it’ll look.
This is the mother colony, if it turns out half as good as this i'll be extremely happy :)
