Crack/chip in new tank

Firstly hello, I know I haven’t said hello properly but will post the appropriate thread after this.

After a long break in the hobby, I have decided to come back to it all grown up and decided to indulge on a new 6’ tank.

however upon installing, the corner just kissed the cabinet frame and a small crack/chip happened. It’s in the bottom rear left corner so out of view and I don’t care about it, unless it’s a structural issue. So if anyone could help put my mind to rest, I would appreciate it

I'm not a glass expert, but I think you should be ok. Is the silicone seal in that corner still ok? (I couldn't tell if it's bubbling a bit or if that's just a light reflection)

Maybe someone else can weigh-in with their thoughts?

Light reflection, doesn’t go near the silicone.

it’s also the outside bottom where is joins a 36mm base so as far away from the water seal as possible

Put the thin water like super glue over it. It'll wick into any tiny fissures you can't see. Then fill her up! Good luck.

My primary concern would be crack propagation towards the seams. If it's far enough from the seam, then put some sort of adhesive to prevent the crack from spreading any further. I'm not familiar with the best adhesive to use, but some sort of glue design specifically for glass.

This is a good idea. Usually light cured cyanoacrylate.
