So today I was wiping down the tank and noticed a crack.

Not exactly sure how or when it happened. Had it about a whole two weeks. This is actually in my son's room and we are going to stock it with fresh water fish.

Do I have to scrap the tank?

I would contact manufacturer asap.

From what I read on another post Fluval/Hagen won't replace it. Reading thier limited warranty information, I also don't believe they will cover it.

Contact them anyway, you are only 2 weeks in, ya never know.

I would absolutely not have water in that tank.

Hmm may be a bit unethical but another post gave me an idea. Order another one and say it got damaged in shipping. either get a refund or end up with two. Lol.

Well, I can't quite comment on whether that is a bad idea or not really here, I'd just advise not putting it in public print or anything if you do!;Wacky

Edit*, just noting there is an edit button

So that's a thumbs up right? ;) lol.

So I got my son's replacement tank today. The top silicone or whatever it is is pretty shoddy in one of the corners.

Upon further inspection of his "cracked" tank, it appears to be no more than a surface scratch. Boy am I an idiot. But guess who just got a new QT tank. This guy! Lol

Hello,

How did you get the tank replacement? I just received a tank put water in it and it cracked in 2 or 3 places the next day. I have the flex 32.5. I had the mat under the tank and have the stand made by fluval for the 32.5. Please let me know what you did to get a replacement.

I went ahead and just bought another tank. Turned out it was just a scratch though lol. Ended up selling the tank with the scratch. I would reach out to Fluval if I were you though.

Oh ok. Very expensive for purchasing another. I emailed the manufacturer and the reseller. Hopefully Hagen group covers this. It's level and on their stand with their mat.
