Crack in tank? Should I be concerned?

Hi all, I noticed this odd circle like crack in my 20 gallon high that I recently started. I'm not sure if it's more of a gash or a crack? Either way, should I be concerned?

Here are two pics. I tried to get one from inside as well.

Yeah. Looks like an interior stress crack. (think of what some stone chips on windshields look like)


For a 20g? I probably wouldn’t worry

At minimum, although it wont be the prettiest appearance, I would fill area with 2-part clear Marine Epoxy to reinforce it

Yeah almost looks like a bubble like you get on windshields. Hopefully it doesn't get worse.

You think that could be done underwater while the tank is filled or should I be draining it first?

Drain it down while salvaging some of the water and dry area and clean with alcohol, and apply sealant. You should be able to refill in 4-6 hrs. You will also have accomplished a water change

Yes. Keep them submerged in water. No light for even up to 12 hrs will not hurt coral in any way

Looks like a typical clamshell chip. Mostly they’re benign, but sometimes micro cracks can cause tank failure. No way to know reality - certainly not from a picture.
