cracked aquaclear 70 on my new nano reef

i recently discovered a crack on my new aquaclear 70 filter i'm using as a refugium for my new nano, because of the quarantine i cant get superglue tonight, but i hit it with aquarium silicone and used the hair dryer on it, it appears to be sealed. Its holding water and functioning fine. Should i worry about the leak opening? its been running dry for about an hour now, but i'm petrified to go to work and come back to half a tank on my floors. Any advice?

The first is my new 10 gallon with the filter issue, the second is my fluval evo that’s been running for 3 months!

Super glue doesn't work on plastic. You will need 2 pt epoxy. Walgreens CVS Duane Reed. 7 -eleven. should carry it and be open late

Well I used aquarium silicone and it’s holding, I’m just not sure if I can trust it. But I don’t have a cvs near me. I’ll call around

And your 10g budget looks just like my 5g but with a smaller filter

Well I used aquarium silicone and it’s holding, I’m just not sure if I can trust it. But I don’t have a cvs near me. I’ll call around

You could try putting duct tape over the silicone for extra support

I used epoxy when I did that once upon a time. It continued to hold water until I got a better HOB. If the silicone says it will bond to plastic you should be fine. I would put extra to be for sure. And I’d do it inside and outside.

I’m going the old flex tape route untill I can fix it! Unfortunately it’s almost 9pm for me, so everything’s closing

i would think the silicone would hold it fine. Do both sides. There isn't a lot of water pressure on it so should be ok.
