Cracked LED light strip

I have an LED light strip for an aquarium that attaches to the cover/lid. It recently got a 4 inch or so crack down the middle of the light. The light still functions exactly the same as before. I am just wondering if that crack affects the performance of the light or could cause any problems in the future? Thanks for any help.

A picture would help. Most likely it will not affect anything.
