Cracked my Nuvo Fusion 30L

Like the title says, I was cleaning an older Nuvo Fusion 30 gallon long, and I bumped the corner and heard a crunch. At first, I didn't notice anything, but later I noticed the crack in the corner (pictured below). I filled it with water and it doesn't leak at all, but my worry is that I'll wake up one day to find water all over the floor after the crack expanded. Does anybody have experience with fixing something like this? Can I get it fixed like a chip or crack in a windshield and just get it filled? It's about 1.5" long. I'd hate to just toss such a nice tank. Glass is 8mm thick which seems to be plenty considering the tank is only 13" high.

The best option would be to get a pane of glass and place it against the crack, then use an aquarium safe silicone to glue it in place. Then fill the tank with freshwater and check for leaks, If there are no leaks then you have done it. Down side to this is that your tank will look very odd due too the pane of glass stuck to the corner. I hope I was able to help have a good day and remember, Happy Reefing.

Yeah, that's an option I was thinking about. The thing is, it already doesn't leak. I don't think the crack made it all the way through. I'm almost tempted to just leave it as is, fill it up and put the fish in, but I'm just worried about the crack spreading. That's why I'm wondering if there is some kind of resin or something that I can put in just to make sure it doesn't crack more. The tank holds water fine.

I must clarify that the pane should be facing the crack on the inside of the tank. It will be placed from the inside of the tank.

If you are unsure then you can just use silicone to patch up the crack, this way it won't be as visible and it will give you some kind of resistance.

I would consider the tank toast. A patch might hold or it might not. Cracks in glass tend to run, and there is no top rim to prevent the tank from rupturing if it does run.

Yeah those types of tanks are expensive, I always buy second hand tanks.

Unfortunately, 'fixing' it means taking the tank apart, cleaning off all the old silicone, replacing the front panel, and re-siliconing. Not worth the time and effort for most people I'd guess.

I would be very worried investing time and money into a cracked tank. With that said I am very sorry, we lost a tank that way years ago. Hope it all works out

sell it as a reptile tank and use the funds to find another. never worth the risk.
