Hey while bringing up a tank I found on fb market we chipped a piece of the bottom here, it doesn’t look major and I’m thinking of using super glue to fill in the crack what do you guys think from the pictures ? Thanks for your time

It looks fine to me. The break is well away from the seal. You were fortunate. Water test before adding valuables.

edit: now that i see the second pic, It might be on the seal.
bump for another opinion

Probably be ok as it's on the opposite side of the silicone....

With that said I'd have a back up always ready and I'd be watching that spot daily...

Also fill test for a week with power heads going.

I’ll try to run a small leak test here in a bit unpacking some of my stuff right now sad that it might be a goner

Does the silicone pull away from the glass at all?

After blowing up the 2nd pic it does look like the silicone may have stretched.

If that is the case I'd probably pass.

Or have a garage tank and always be prepared for a break.

I just could never enjoy an aquarium with a spot I had to watch daily. I already need to do that with my roof lol.

Here’s a short video trying to get the best video up as I can sorry as my hands are shaky

Is it worth the risk? If it does fail you will be kicking yourself for ever filling it with water. If it doesn't fail, you will always be worried is today the day it fails. Tanks don't always fail with a small drip that gives you time to get all the inhabitants and the water out.
