I just returned from my 14th Macna. I started reef keeping in 1997 and have had a passion from Acropora ever since then. I dreamed about the day that we could get our corals to spawn and possibly settle and grow out. Jamie Craggs won the MASNA aquarist of the year, and really should have the aquarist of the decade. He is consistently getting Corals to spawn, cross breeding/fertilizing them as well as figuring out ways to increase the overall yield of the batch by adding baby Urchins.

I suspect it's a matter of time until we are doing this in our basement. If you have any interest, he is publicly sharing all of his techniques.

Good Luck!

Wow that was an awesome read. So they used yeast to feed the Corals. @RussiReef[emoji848] ok I’m going to try it now. Lol

Edit: thanks for posting this OP. I can’t wait to get a new tank and try to copy this. I don’t even care about the spawning I just think it’s amazing that we will soon be able to come so close to mimicking the natural environment in our private tanks.

Yes,I use yeast to feed my corals for about 3 years with a good result.
