I got the tank off craigslist in 2014. The previous owner said he downsized from a 300 to a 90 and was getting out the hobby. I paid 500$ after going to look at it and falling in love lol. We broke it down, and he brought it over to my house filled it up with the same water and scaped it for me etc.
I honestly had no clue what I was doing few days go by the sump cracked and started leaking all over the house my parents were not happy. The previous owner ended up going ghost after that
.
Luckily the crack was near the top half of the sump right by the maximum water line. I used silicone on it and duck taped it, no leaks for four years now.
Sump setup thoughts on it? Was thinking of getting an eshopps or any new sump..
Anyways here was the tank when I first got it.
Someone id anemone pls
I left it zero maintenance for four years straight. No water changes at all. never changed the filtration padding till this year. I only topped off the water.
I got down too just the striped damsel, and a couple of the blue ones lost everything else. Had cyano cause no flow in the tank.
Here is what it looked like after some cleaning
Time to invest in it now that i have more money to spend lol. Spent a lot of time just cleaning.
Rescaped it a couple times removed some rock to clean in some saltwater. Bulkreefsupply 52 weeks of reefing was a life saver IMO. there weren't good videos when I first got my tank and personally, I learn better from videos.
Added a couple of frags, of course, some clownfish and a conch my first time buying corals. Always ignored them when i was younger going to the awful local fish store that i went to.
Got some more coral bigger pieces
removes some rock and rescaped.
couple cardinals and a royal gramma
Too many diatoms brought the whites down.
WWC ended up having their sale I grabbed a ton of frags lol. Doesn't seem like much when you buy one at a time got around 10-15 frags. Some of which my lighting was not strong enough for. I ended up rescaping when the frags came in used a rock as a frag holder while i waited for my viparspectras to come in. My mom was not happy about the hanging lights lol.
Lights came in added some more live stock yellow and a powder blue tang. Lfs was holding another tang and a flame for me.
Added the flame and sailfin tang juvenile.
