Many of us have used a skimmer that simply didn't work no matter how much we try to tune it.

Maybe I'm alone in this? I added a rollermat and skimmer stopped being effective... then proceeded to limp along for longer than I care to admit. Partly because I wasn't confident in which size to go with now and didn't want to spend the money and be wrong.

I did the blank line...
I bought a $30 ebay special from bejing China and I was all excited about it. Lol.
Everything I wanted. Hang on back. Vortex style. Lol. Venturi from the pump.
Blag lahblah
All I could do was get it to spin a water whirlpool and output air bubbles into my fish tank. Lol.

It wasn't until I bought a used CPR backpack skimmer until I successfully started protein skimming and learning how to use a proper one. Lol.

Went with the one that was recommended by my local store that was properly sized for my tank and the plan I had for the tank. Worked great or as it should.

bought a bigger skimmer thinking it would be good when I get higher bioload. Ended up not using it anymore as my corals look healthier without it, and po4/no3 are rock stable. now, I have a nice 1000$ door stop and a healthy tank

The reason this site and others existed is because.

I have a 90 gallon tank what skimmer should I get?

I need a return pump which one and what model?

I have algae, fish die etc.

This is what I like about these sites the people who like or willing to help exist, lots of other hobbies is just crickets or dead crickets.
