Think I have symptoms of ick and velvet after adding fish from a LFS rapid fish loss remaining fish not eating staying out of light hiding flashing hitting rocks .My parameters are spot on. I don't think my remaining fish will last another day . Crab and snails look to be fine can they carry ick or velvet? At this point I want to crash the tank to be sure I'm rid of disease totally. Or will letting the tank run life less including snails and crabs for 76 days guarantee I'll have no more disease ? Thanks for advice

You only need to leave the tank fishless for 76 days for ich and velvet. It definitely sounds like velvet. You should try to freshwater dip your remaining fish and keep them in a qt with copper to give them a chance of life... what fish remain?

It's ok to leave crabs and snails in the display just remove fish to QT

Yes, all corals/inverts remain in the DT for the entire 76 day fallow period.

I also agree that velvet is the most likely culprit here, based on the timeline of deaths.

First time I've experience this . Is there any other good measures to take besides qt tank before adding new fish in the future . Is fresh water dip good idea or just cruel?

Qt tank is the only way to go to ensure you don't repeatedly lose fish. :(

The fresh water dip provides the fish some short term relief from velvet...it buys you some time to set up a QT to treat them, but not a lot. You need to act quickly. I had a similar experience last December. Followed the Velvet (Amyloodinium ocellatum) protocol and am back up and running again. From now on--anything wet gets quarantined!

I wouldn't use a freshwater dip on all new arrivals. It's a great tool as mentioned for things like velvet to buy you time, or to confirm/rule out flukes, but it's something I would save for when I needed it. QT is the only way to ensure you don't introduce disease into your display. QT all corals, inverts and fish before introduction.

Only survivors green chromis why? They look as if nothing wrong lol this point I want to be 100% no more disease is tank crash the only sure way

No, you don't need to crash the tank, or start over. simply remove the chromis to QT and treat while leaving the display fallow (fishless) for 76 days to be clear of both velvet and ich. Some fish can develop a temporary resistance to parasites like this, but still be a carrier allowing the parasite to continue it's lifecycle and infect new fish when they are introduced to the tank. The fallow period will run just like your tank normally would, just without fish. No crash needed.
