Hi everyone. I've got a ton of questions and not totally sure whether I should ask them all in one place or multiple threads. 1. I'm wondering if a corallife super skimmer 125 is enough for a 75 gal tank and 30/40 gallon sump or if I'm better off retunring it and going for one of the reef octopus skimmers I keep hearing about. Many other questions to come. Thank you.

It looks like it is rated for a 125 gal system so even if it was a great skimmer you would be pushing its limits. A lot of it also depends on what you have in your tank and how often you will be feeding your fish/corals. The more you feed the higher capacity you want. As I understand it, coralife isn't know for top notch skimmers. Reef octopus makes a good skimmer for a reasonable price. But tell us what you are thinking of putting in your tank concening livestock and I'm sure someone can recommend the best size for your system's needs

I am still unsure. I know I'd like at least a pair of clowns and wwould like to be ready to upgrade to reef at some point. but besides that everything is still a lil in the air..what would I be better off with to err on the side of cautioncaution? my only limits would be somewhere close, hopefully under 300 dollars, can fit into a 30 gal long tank and fit under my stand. (good 2 ft. of clearance.) I have many other questions but wasn't sure if I should post them all here or under seperate threads.

i use the coralife 220 cone skimmer on my 125. it is a great skimmer with a lot of bubble production control. it is a little loud, but once the cabinet door is on i don't here it. i have also tryed to double the tank size when picking a skimmer.

You could use the SRO XP1000 or the regular 1000. They are rated to 125 gallons. I have it on my tank and I love it! I do have some experience with the Coralife skimmer and it nothing compared to a Super Reef Octopus.

Some people are saying to double the size of the tank. So should I go for like a 200 octopus
