So lately I've been rehoming some of my more aggressive fish, to make way for a couple of butterflyfish and possibly a Moorish Idol. I kept two of the "meanies" - a PB Tang and large Lemonpeel Angel - with the understanding (wife) that the Lemonpeel would be rehomed if she messed with the butterflies.

Last week I introduced a Copperband and right away the tang starts charging at it like a bull (she does this to all new fish.) All of the other fish just ignored the CBB (yay!) A week later the aggression from the tang has died down (like I hoped it would), and the CBB doesn't even seem to be afraid of her.

When I bought the CBB, I also bought a large diamond goby who was still in QT. I figured this was going to be a breeze introducing him into the DT. After all, I already have a watchman in the DT that everyone just ignores. Aggression from the watchman was the only thing I was really worried about.

I drop the diamond goby in, and immediately my little Eibli and Cherub angel start tearing him to shreds! I mean ripping the flesh right off of his body! :faint: Where in the world did this come from? These are two of the most "passive" fish in the tank. I've never seen them show aggression towards anything, until now.

Just goes to show ya. Fish behavior is often unpredictable and sometimes downright crazy.

Gotta love those tangs and angels! I read everywhere online that clown tangs were spawns of satan. I watched one for a friend and it became the calmest, most chill fish in the tank and wouldn't leave my purple tang's side. And yet my oc. clown who is supposed to be peaceful has actually bitten a piece of my skin off and bites me whenever possible. Maybe bipolar disorder is actually affecting fish to?

I had a clown tang one time that would try to attack me through the glass. If it were an acrylic tank, he would have scratched it all up from trying to stick me with his barb. :squigglemouth:

I wasn't all that surprised these dwarf angels picked on him. It's how they did it. I've never seen dwarf angels bite & tear like little sharks before. Only big angels I've seen do that.

Clownfish all learn to hate "the hand" in time.
