Crazy high chromium in water after icp test

Yesterday I received my icp results and I was shocked to find huge amounts of chromium in my water. I later found the cause to be a rusty titanium heater that at one point had been exposed to the air while being turned on damaging the outer layer later causing it to corrode.
Will poly filter and water changes be my best option and how long should I expect the poly filter to remove it all? Overnight the poly filter has not changed color at all.

The poly filter pad has now been in for 2 days and is still white. Aren't they supposed to change color

I would not use chemicals to try to remove this. You can not target specific metals and will end up pulling out other traces that you want. You will then need to water change them back in. Better if you just water change to dilute this out.

Generally speaking this type of contimantion isn't acute.

So, we stopped using Red Sea blue bucket because we got 3 tests with similar chromium and even after checking the tank top to bottom we could not find anything. I think we got a bad batch or who knows but its not an issue with our current salt and thats all we really changed
