So I just purchased a 40 gallon breeder tank to upgrade from my 30 gallon. I currently have a T5 fixture set up that is 30 inches long. The new tank is 36 inches long so I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on how to mount the light.

Hang it from the ceiling or mount it on a aluminium rack. Its actually not that difficult as long as you using toggle anchor bolts. Then again I don't know if you have the tools and if your bout the DIY.

Share the brand of the fixture so others can better assist.

I had an aluminum rack made and attached my fixtures to it and used a current USA adjustable hanging kit.

Go to Home Depot and buy 3/4" conduit. I believe it comes in 10' lengths. In the same section, they will have the conduit bender. Put 2 90 degree bends in it on either end and cut it in half. I've heard of people bending it right in the store. That will give you two L brackets to attach to the back of your stand from which to hang the lights from.

If you're not too handy, then CAD Lights sells a lamp tree that you could buy...

+1 on the conduit, super easy and needs mouthing more than a screw driver! Here's a pic of mine, not a super close up pic but you get the gist

I was thinking more of creating a bar to rest the current light on top of my tank. I am not the best with DIY stuff so I am trying to avoid a hanging mount.
