crickets

although I have had my tank up for almost a year and a half. has any one woken up and realized out of no ware there a cricket in your fish room, basement or near your reef tank? I just heard one this morning and wondering what to do? is this common? I have heard of dragon flies but not crickets.

Probably just a normal thing and nothing todo with fishroom... those sucker like moisture

Some cultures consider crickets good luck! Let us know how lucky you feel at 2 am when it doesn't stop chirping. Things will drive you bonkers until they find their way out, starve or you find them.

I’m listening to one right now, even with the home theater blasting. It’s driving me crazy. I find a ton of bugs around the basement and I’ve tanked several from the sump, but I’ve only pulled one out of the tank. I think my fish just eat them when they fall in. I did find an 11” racer stuck in a glue trap the other day down there, so I’m just glad I’m not finding snakes floating in my tank.

When I read the title of this thread I thought you meant that you weren't getting any feedback - nothing but the sound of crickets!

Since I live in Florida, insects and other critters are par for the course here. Good luck with your new pet!

I'm going to set up a trap tonight to try to catch it and out of the house

I had dart frogs before i dropped into the reef world and I used get excited about random bugs around. Even if they were too big for the frogs to eat, I’d toss some in just to process the bio load. The frogs loved the random larva though
