Open to critiques! This topic has many threads, so I thought: 1) I'd get some personalization. Thanks for any help 2) Feel free and please post your own schedules, as it's always good to have a quick reference guide to everyone's settings.

I wanted to post this because it looks like some of my Zoas are shriveling away over the past few months. The only major change I have had over that time is with lighting schedules. (I did add a Marinepure block, however, the changes started before that.)

My LFS claims to run 0% color (all blue), for what it's worth, and he gets great coloration and growth.

My tank is a 6 foot 125 gallon. Kessil 360's are about 7.5 inches from the water line. Three spread evenly across the 6 feet. All LPS, softies, and anemone.

Schedule is:
11:40 0 % color 10 % intensity (On)

14:30 50% color 50 % intensity

16:30 70% color 55% intensity

19:30 50% color 50 % intensity

21:00 5 % color 15 % intensity

22:45 0% color 0% intensity (Off)

-3 hour ramp up
-5 hours of maximum intensity (50-55%).
-1.5 hours of ramp down
1:45 of low light/high blue
11 hours total

Personally, I think I have too much color (very white) at the peak. I also think my ramp up is probably too long- could decrease that for more time at peak intensity. Those are the issues I see that could be changed.

Thanks for any input. Also, any anecdotal evidence that too much white isn't ideal for Zoas?

Tank is LPS, Softies, and Nems. I've read a lot people say to not run color over 50%

1000- 0% Color 10% Intensity

1300- 30% 35%

1500- 35% 45%

1700- 35% 45%

1900- 30% 35%

2200- 0% 0%

What is the reasoning behind not running color over 50%?

Ive never ran kessils (just a personal preference of not liking them I guess) but as for the ramps, I do a 2 hr on and off ramp and if im changing intensities I do an hour ramp.
Im on the high side of ramp time though lol

I won't critique your schedule as individual tank needs will vary, but I will share what I do. I don't run my color over 40% as I find the bluer hues color up the corals better. Right now, the intensity maxes out at 75% after a 75 minute ramp. The intensity stays at 75% for 8.5 hours before a 90 minute ramp down before lights out.

The color is a bit more complicated. I currently run two sets of three Kessils for a total of six. However, one set starts at 0% color and maxes out at 25% after a 120 minute ramp. That same set stays at 25% for 8.5 hours before a 90 minute ramp down before lights out.

The other set of three Kessils follows the same ramp to 25%, hold the 25% for 3.75 hours, then ramps to 40% color over 60 minutes. The color holds at 40% for 5.75 hours before ramping back down to 0% over 2.5 hours.

Hope this helps!

Intersting- basically 1.5 hours ramp up and down with 8.5 hours of max intensity.

Thank you

I believe it was shown somewhere in some thread buried by now that corals grow faster under white light and color up better under blue light so I did the bell curve with my kessils and I have the color follow them. They are about 6"-7" above the water. Color is the blue line and Power is the orange line. Turns on at 6:30am and off at 8:30pm

How do you get this output out of Fusion? I cannot for the life of me figure it out!

Most claimed it promoted algae growth and their corals reacted negatively to the higher white ( higher color setting). My LFS also has Kessils over all the tanks and they are all set to 0 color

In the Output Configuration for your kessil power or color module, click on the far right icon to go into Wizard mode instead of basic.

I was never a fan of the all blue windex look. I prefer a more 14k lighting range.

I also, don't like the windex look, but can live with a certain amount of blue. @Fence13 you run a pretty "white" look. What coral do you keep?

So how long do you all have your max intensity running?

Mine is an all SPS tank. Growth is great, colors are fine, and it's mainly white when I'm not home. :)

This is how I run my A360WE over a 90 gallon DT. Lights are suspended 8" above the water.

Time Color Intensity

11 AM 0 5
13:00 35 40
16:00 30 35
19:00 15 25
20:00 0 5
21:30 0 0

hows your growth?

hows your growth?
growth is good so far for the zoas, palys, gsps and daisy polyps....

for my lps hard to tell for now since they have just been in the tank for almost a month

in two weeks will increase intensity by 5% but maintain my color settings

How may kessils? What are growing? Depths? I have 2 on 90gal mixed..good parameters but sloww growth. Lights peak at 35 55...thinking of addin one t5 accross the front.?
