I have never plumbed a tank before and this will be my first with a sump. Ive been doing a lot of research and this is my first draft. the blue lines are drains. coming out of the refugium will be a 45 degree down and where it reconnects to the drain will be a Y. Do you see any issues? also where would be a good place to put a UV sterilizer?

Honestly, you might be better off showing us a dry fitting than drawing it out..

Looks ok in the drawing as a schematic. Doing it is another. Just take your time use unions and dry fit everything before you clean and glue.

Uv goes on the return. Or if your running a manifold off of one of the outlets

What is the size of the tank? At some point you may want to go with a second return pump with one plumbed to each side for redundancy. Additionally, I have found it helpful to add a short piece of silicone hose between the pump and the hard plumbing to limit the vibration that could be transferred to the tank. Good luck!

sorry its a 150 gal reef ready. i redid the stand was in the middle of putting the doors on the stand but just realized itll probably be easier without the doors

I would not join the refugium drain into the main drain. At least not in a straight run like that.

no that will be on a 45 degree angle and connect to the main drain via a Y.

So im not sure if this is accurate, but I recently set up a display refugium and my lfs guy said I should not set the drain pipe parallel to the floor, at most have it at an incline so water can travel without making too much noise. My main display is set that way as well which works fine but the parallel plumbing would have been sleeker looking.

Is such thing accurate?

It is but not for the reasons stated. Horizontal pipe runs trap air. It can make them noisy but it always keeps them from flowing at the rated amount.
Design your plumbing to work well, not look well.

I'm not sure if did this install yet. But you may want to reconsider having your return pump next to your skimmer with no baffles In between.
