Critter found in sand

Was vacuming the sand yesterday, and sucked this guy out...any ideas?

This is not a new tank, established a few years now, so must have been there a long time!

Hmmmmmm… that’s a weird one.
Almost looks like a saltwater beetle.

June bug that fell into your tank?
Could have fallen in, except we dont have any bugs that look like that other than the ones we call as Christmas beetles.
And it was still alive?

It could have been stuck inside the vacume siphon i guess from being in my shed?

Agree looks like a terrestrial beetle, especially since it floats at the top of your water.
