Hello Reefers !

Here are a few pics of critters I have on the glass and I’ve done some research but would like others to weigh in ..

Colonista Snails ? Good/Bad - way off track and these are terrible ? Literally 1000s all over the glass
- I have astrea , cerith and turbo snails in the tank

I think copepods as well as Flatworms - I’m not sure if these are the bad flatworms or the mediocre annoying harmless flatworms

This is hard to tell but it looks like dandelion seeds on the glass ? No idea

Thank you for checking this out and leaving a comment :)

Thanks ! Didn’t even think of worms because they had the spiral shell .

Isopods are the biggest right- Then amphipod then copepod . I would eventually like to have a mandarin , just don’t want an unbalanced pod population

Spirorbid worms at the top and munnid isopods at the bottom.

Yeah Melevs reef had pics similar to mine for Acoel flatworms - however I notice most people are worried about Red Flatworms (these guys are kinda brown red ? )

I don’t know - have requested a Blue Velvet Nudi from my LFS because the amount of flatworms is atrocious

The white spirals are spirorbid worms, the flatworms are acoel flatworms I think, and the pods are munnid isopods.

Spirorbids enclose themselves in a calcified shell and have no true predators. They usually line the walls of tanks and are quite common but harmless. Annoying to look at but can be scraped off. Munnid isopods are harmless and they’re just free food. A lot of fish will eat them. I’ve seen my shrimps hunt them down. I once had hundreds but haven’t seen any for the longest time. Flatworms of this type are annoying and will soon cover your whole tank. Flatworm eXit by Salifert can work. I used to have flatworms like this but either my six line wrasse or my peppermint shrimps ate them all.

Nudis are so cool, I almost wish I had a flatworm problem...almost.

I’m worried about using flatworm exit as it says you need to siphon the dead flatworms out - but I don’t think I could siphon them out they’re so small .

Hmmm . From what I can find the spirorbids will either slowly disappear or boom in population all over the rock . Not great news :/

I wouldn't worry about the spirorbids, I've never seen them be a problem.

Spirorbids seem to be in my tank for the long haul. Never used flatworm exit but yes, flatworms can release toxins into the water as they die. If anything, I’d be worried about flatworms and not the other things.

Oh that’s what I meant - using flatworm exit for the flatworms I do have seems like it might end badly as they are too small to siphon out
