Critter on soft coral

I’m assuming this is just one of those hitchhikers I see on the glass and rocks that just happens to be cleaning the polyp and not something more nefarious?

Not sure. The shape looks like a vermatid to me but I've not seen them attached to soft coral. Is it hard? Maybe pluck it off and lay it on a paper towel and get a pic of it.

Hard to say but It could be a asterina starfish.
