Are your cords critter proof? We recentlly had a cord on a Korallia 1 burn thru, underwater. Not a very pretty site when you grab the power head:crossedlips: like I did.So we sent it back to the manufacture.Today I recieved aphone call relating to this "cord damage" and I qote a starfish or urchin must have chewed through the cord.We can see little tiny teeth marks on the cord.Which would void the warranty but we will replace it for you.I guess where I am going with this is make sure all your cords are critter proof or it could be a shocking exsperience for you.I know mine was.I myself laughed at him and replied I dont think this is true.So what is every one else think.

We have a total of 16 tanks.I dont think I can afford vortechs with out taking out a loan.LOL.While I am on here I still have the 24gal nano.It is now just tank, stand, skimmer and pump for tank for $150.Also appox.25lbs of live rock.If it is still here this week end it comes down and goes in the garage.

I have heard that some urchins will chew the insulation off power cords but I never had that problem. Now that I think about it, I never had any urchins so it must be true.

If urchins can eat coraline algae, they can probably chew through a power cord. That said, I really think that Koralia may have some quality control issues. I had a K2 that leaked voltage and shocked the bejeebers out of me when it was practically new. Similar problems have been reported by others. I'm hoping the "new" line of powerheads that they're just coming out with is also "improved".

He and others did not make it through the 115w of electrical shock.I did not enjoy it either

I've had two koralia pumps leak voltage in water.. I'm like mariner.. I'm thinking they have some issues..

I have had several problems with the pumps.Loved them at first but have a different veiw on them now.A friend of mine had a brand new one #4 running for about 5 min. and it siezed up and welded it self together.
