so i just got done raising my copper levels to therapeutic.
I was wondering since there is water evaporating to the lid and the lights.
If it drips back down to the water column again, is it cross contaminating my tank?

Any water that evaporates is essentially distilled, leaving behind any salts, copper or parasite free-swimmers.

Water that splashes, the kind of stuff that leaves salt creep, can carry free-swimmers with it, up to ten feet or so.

If water is evaporating to your light and dripping back in, the thing I'd be worrying about would be potential corrosion of the light fixture, and contamination from any corroded metals, etc. dripping back in.

Love achilles tangs ... hope he does well for you!

Thanks a lot! This is actually my 2nd achilles. lost the first one due to overdosing copper. Hope this one will be able to make it.

do you mean by this is that water coming from this qt tank can infect other tank that is within 10 feet or less?

or

some water splashes that goes to the top lid can carry free swimmers that eventually infects the tank again after it drips down?

sorry, i sound like im making it so much complicated. i just want to be sure and english not my native language haha!

No worries! Your English is far better than my ... well, whatever your native language is . . .

Water that splashes up in aerosol form has been shown to transport ich to tanks as far as ten feet away. A fan blowing from the display toward the quarantine tank can help there, by pushing any water micro-droplets away from the display.

Water that splashes up to your top lid can carry both parasites and copper, so the bugs are still choking on the copper, and if they fall back into your copper-treated tank, they're still choking on copper - so you're OK with that.
