I was reading some posts about aerosol contamination. I have two separate saltwater tanks in my bedroom and I measured them at 9 feet apart. Should I move one out completely? One thing that scares me is one tank is completely untreated. I never bothered since the clown gobies have been doing good for 2 years now. The other one has had all inhabitants quarantined prior to going in. Also, I use a 5 gallon water bottle to mix my salt. Is it overly paranoid that splashing might contaminate the water bottle? I fill it up with rodi water that I've read would kill any saltwater parasites anyways and I mix the salt a few days later.

My QT tank is 9 feet away from my DT and I’ve never had a problem. Just make sure when your working with the QT tank everything is separate. I mark my bucket and nets so I know which is which. Also just make sure those tanks have lids. That will cut down on the aerosol.

9 ft apart likely wouldn't be an issue. Unless you set up a fan blowing from the possible contaminated tank towards the clean tank.
Being they are both DTs contamination would be likely in other ways. You could just treat your clown gobies and allow the other tank to go fallow then you'd have no worries.
