Day two of 30 mins on full hour off and the high/low for RH and temp are right where I’d like to see.

I use a oil filled radiator heater set to maintain 69 degrees so the high of 73 degrees is awesome. Since the heater stays hot even after it hits the desired room temp it will continue to warm for several minutes after it kicks off.

Humidity control issue seems to have been solved. On to the next challenge.

It’s a balancing act. I’m out there a lot, but I have to come in and help with dinner and the little one and the dogs so I stay in the wife’s good graces! Then again when she’s mad at me she sends me out there. Win win? LOL.

I got up early this morning, let the dogs out before the rain got here, and checked on the shack since I was already outside. Good thing too, because apparently I forgot to turn my water off last night. RODI unit ran for a full 10 hours filling my 32g brute within a .25 inch of the rim!!! I got lucky this time. I'll be ordering a shutoff float valve today!

But on a positive note, I'm fairly certain the rating on my 75 gpd RODI unit is just about spot on.

And that's the very reason I used to make water in the bathtub!!!

Very cool build! I have a side yard not being used right that I could.....nevermind, wife would kill me.

I really like how you used the tile squares to raise the frag racks. Very simple and easy.

Yeah I used 1" pvc at first but I liked the lower profile of the tiles a lot better. Since they're travertine I figure they'll act more like live rock in the long run.

Still getting caught up but made it to the part with water hight level and thought I would throw my two cents in. I have the same frag tank and the same over flow and I have my water level sitting just below the trim. Did you run a gate valve on the drain plumbing? If not see if you can throw one in there and restrict the drain, It will get the water level up for you.

Another note, I did the same thing with the gaskets but had mine in a spot i had to cut plumbing and order new bulkheads. There was many adult words that came out that day.

I do have a gate valve on the drain, but as much as I've fought to tune the overflow I just couldn't get it to raise the level in the tank. I don't have a pic or a post about it but I ended up gluing a thin piece of acrylic over the bottom half inch or so of the teeth and it brought up to where it's right at the trim. Not the optimal fix, but it serves it's purpose for the frag tank.

Thanks. Something new everyday it seems. I’m so ready to get my 40B transferred and get things settled in so I can just sit back and enjoy hanging out in there!

So I got my new dehumidifier in this past Friday. Much quieter, and I think it produces a little less heat. However I'm just about convinced I'll have to run it 24/7, at least in the cooler months. I turned it off Friday night just to see what would happen, and when I checked the shack Saturday morning there was water pouring off the window. There was water dripping from a spot on the ceiling and the floors were damp. There was even condensation on my breaker panel!!! Opened the breaker panel and there was no water/moisture inside, only condensation on the face plate. Dried everything with towels, opened the door, opened the window, turned on the dehumidifier full blast, set the AC to fan to help blow moist air out.... I pretty much had a freak out moment!!!

So far the dehumidifier is running like a champ and maintaining RH nicely, and no water on everything.... I just hope my electric bill isn't ridiculous.
