Getting a 60 gallon tank....For my 3 jawfish.. might add other stuff later..

1. Using only crushed corals from caribsea (would have to siphon a lot but I like the look better than the sand..)
2. Putting special grade reef sand and then mostly crushed coral on top?

anyone with just crushed coral bottom that have issues? I think the jawfish will prefer bigger pieces to make their burrows or.. would they need sand too.. haha

will be taking live rocks from my other tank for nitrifying bacteria... and maybe add dr.Tim’s...

I would supplement the fine sand with the crushed coral in atleast one area to allow the jawfish to choose in a sense, but crushed coral is fine I’ve had dottybacks that move pieces around for their den so jawfish should definitely be able to

I have shallow crushed coral and as long as you maintain through siphoning you should be fine. Letting everything build up and not cleaning out will lead to problems down the road.
