I have a new bag of crushed coral that the guy I bought my live rock from gave me. Is there anything I can use it for? Can I put it in a media bag to release calcium? Should I throw it away? Just trying to straighten up my aquarium supplies and if this has no use then I will toss it. Any ideas greatly appreciated!

I would just throw it out in the garden somewhere. If you come across some larger pieces, maybe use those to mount zoanthid frags on.

if you tie the bag of crushed coral to the opposite end of the sand siphon with a filter sock, itll keep it in the sump pretty good so you dont leak water.

It will not release calcium into your water unless the ph of that water drops into the acid range, and that's not going to happen in a saltwater tank.

I used to use some in area's around my PH's that were close to the substrate, but that's about it.
