Yes, I have... it's only good for a SSB (shallow sand bed) and needs to be vacuumed occasionally. Make sure to rinse the heck out of it prior to use (as you should any substrate).

The Aragalive live sand is not supposed to be rinsed. I've added it to running tanks twice and it's great stuff. Barely adds a haze to the water.
 
As much as the original title topic had me laughing, I changed it to the topic at hand!

I agree, if you use Crushed coral you will have some maintenance with keeping it free of detritus.

Crushed coral is usually used in FOWLER tanks or those with artificial structures. Not good for reefs. It can really get nasty.
 
I had crushed coral for 2 years. You will very quickly get tired of vacuming it. I'll never use it again. Go with sand.

I think I will go with the regular sand thanks to the ones that help me ;)
