Crushed coral?

Is anyone using crushed coral for their substrate? Is it good or bad? Is it safe for your crabs, shrimp and snails? Is it easy to clean using gravel vacuum? What about your corals sitting on it? I’m just kicking this around, interested in what folks have to say.

Crushed coral is just larger chunks of aragonite sand. Lots of people use crushed coral sand and that is what is present in nature.
