So I recently aquired one of these fish. I have seen him very seldomly so far but last night I was watching the tank and he was under a rock with what looked to be a mucus cocoon. I wanted to just check to see if anyone else has had this happen with this wrasse and if it may be a sign of stress or if it is just how they sleep? I was also a little concerned because I have not seen him come out to eat anything when I am feeding the tank but thought maybe since he has only been in there for 2 days that it might be normal until he gets more comfortable?

Thanks in advance,

Aaron

Yes, they sleep in a mucus cocoon, so no worries. And they are reclusive by nature, and will spend most of their day hunting for pods. I have a Possum Wrasse, and it only eats Mysis shrimp, and only a couple pieces a week at that. Its fat and happy though just from feeding off the life in the tank.

Thanks, my possum wrasse will only seem to eat brine shrimp. He wont touch the mysis.
