Crystal on STAX rock

Found this crystal on a STAX rock. Ok to put it in the tank?

I would soak it in some salt water and see if it dissolves. If not your good to go.

Is STAX from an old reef system? I know with marco you can find fossilized Corals...just found a complete clam while breaking up some reef saver and maybe a coral..the coral looks just like that

This STAX rock is new, dry out of the box.

No what I ment was is it mined out of the ground like Marco? Marco mines Prehistoric reef rock from florida, clean it then sell it boxed and is dry rock.
