Hi guys
yesterday I bought this cute little fish, but with a strong character.
5 minutes in fresh water and then QT for observation before leaving with copper (I await another fish and leave)
after the bath in fresh water, I saw the muzzle as well as in the photo. I can't however guarantee that it wasn't already like this when it arrived and I didn't notice it! and also has the thing slightly ruined

tail looks like a fin nip or injury which will heal and the mouth damage can have occurred when it was netted.
Is fish eating?
If not, you may have to treat in quarantine with seachem Neoplex for 5-7 days and increase oxygen with use of air stone during treatment

@vetteguy53081 eat and be lively!
do you exclude trematodes that have detached and left their mark?

I see that sometimes you recommend kanaplex other neoplex as both are antibiotics, how do you decide if you need one or the other?

I agree with @vetteguy53081 - this looks like injuries from netting/transport, and the fin nip may be from another fish. Mouth damage is common when fish struggle against a solid surface, and this group of tangs also is easily damaged when their long teeth get stuck in nets.
That it is eating is a really good sign. Which antibiotic to use if there is a secondary infection is always a guess. I like Neoplex, but Kanaplex is another good choice.

Kanaplex is a braod spectrum which addresses a variety of fungal, and bacterial fish diseases such as mouth rot, protruded scales, eye issues such as hazy eyes or popeye, and fin rot.
neoplex also a broad spectrum antibiotic is effective against most external infections such as mouth rot (in your case), bacterial issue and cuts, fin rot and bloating from constipation or bladder- all external

As usual I searched all day but these products are not found in europe!

luckily the fish are fine, but I don't want to wait for them to get sick to go desperately looking for something useful.

today I searched among the various commonly used drugs for something that could go well, and that could be easy to recover, to be useful to all those who find themselves in my situation. but I'm neither an expert nor a vet so I ask you.

One tablet contains:

Bimixin: Active principles: neomycin sulphate F. U. 25,000 IU, bacitracin F. U. 2,500 IU.

Excipients: lactose, corn starch, potato starch, precipitated silica, talc, stearic acid.

I can’t convert from IU to mg, so I wouldn’t be able to calculate a dose for you. I also have not used bacitracin in water. The excipients aren’t outright toxic, but I also don’t know what they would do in tank water, sorry!
