Can someone explain to me why cubes are so popular in the hobby now.Beyond marketing hype the last thing fish want is shortness of length.For reef only I get it but for most fish there is a reason rectangle is king.

My fish seem to be happy in their cube.even have a pair of flame angels loving life. Rectangle isn’t king in my book.

I agree with you. That is why I love the lagoon format. More horizontal space. In my opinion the cube format stacks the fish on top of each other and increases the tendency for aggression.

Pair of flame angels, possum wrasse,Valentini puffer yellow wrasse, pair of coral banded shrimp and a pair of cleaner shrimp.
Yep looks great. I love a possum wrasse. Note the lack of clownfish...

I had a couple and they worked well. They are space saving, easy to scape and reach when it comes to cleaning glass
