So I am having a cube tank made. I am debating to make it rimless or not...which brings me to my question. If I don't do rimless the opening of the tank will be [FONT=Calibri, sans-serif]17x15 and the light I'm looking at is the Lumentek Pro 120 LED from Reef Radiance measuring 15.75x9.5. Now is that opening going to be to small for the lighting to be effective? Unless I only keep the lighting like 2 inches above the top of the tank seems like some of the light will be wasted. Thoughts?

Other question I have is If I do go rimless the acrylic will be 3/4 inch thick and the MP10 pump won't work on it so now I'm stuck here. Just would like some opinions on what to do.

Thanks in advance,

Aaron

My cube is 24x24x24, and according to Rick, the 120 Pro will do everything I need within reason. (No extremes like SPS on the sand, etc) Seems like you'd be fine with the bracing.

Do you have a rimless? Thats where I am wondering if its going to work or not. My top is only open partially. My tank is 24x22x22 so cubeish with an opening of 17x15.

Not rimless, but black plastic frame. It's a Marineland 60 cube. The 120 comes with 90 degree lenses, so the spread should hit everything pretty well, and still reach the sand. I'll know more when it gets here, and I plan on an unboxing review.

Hey McAllyn, do you have a tank build on here for your 60 cube? Was wondering what heaters and return pump are you using?

No build thread on it, but using an Aquatop 200w heater and an Ecoplus 600 pump. The 600 is over running my drain, so I've got it on a ball valve right now until I find out why my flow is restricted.
