Getting a cube tank. Trying to decide among the options. Here I list the negatives.

scaquarium 50. 24"x24"x20". $765+$40. Only one drain.
red sea reefer 170. 24"x20"x20". $995. only 20" depth and the overflow box is quite big.
waterbox 47". 24"x24"x22". $1399. expensive.
nuvo 40. 24"x20"x19". $350+$350=$700. all in one it is short front to back.

Would like to hear some thoughts on these tanks (or others that I have overlooked).

I have the 50g SCA cube and really like it. You can ask them to drill more holes for you if you want them. I wish I knew that before :)

My sca 50 came with 3 holes drilled in the overflow box. I didn’t use the provided durso stand pipe and made my own Herbie drain and it is dead silent. I love the tank and would buy it again without hesitation.

Sca will drill holes for your tank wherever you want. Just give Steve a call. As far as package value it’s hard to beat. I have the 50 and love it. 2 years and no issues.

I made my own. It's 24x24x20 and is 3/8th glass and rimless. It's an easy build if you are at all handy. I think the glass and RTV silicone cost about $250 all together. If you want to try and would like advice or support, just ask!

Very impressive but well beyond my ability even though I consider myself somewhat handy.:)

Emailed SCA. They can do whatever but I asked for a drawing to no avail. The 50g will be about $950 with a synergy type of overflow. Plus 2 months wait time.

Another contender. IM 40 EXT, on sale now $510 + $350 + $250 sump = $1010. Similarly priced to the red sea, maybe better quality without the huge overflow in the tank :)
