CUC for Anemone/Clown only tank?

I was going to add a couple astreas or turbo.

What about Blood Red Fire Shrimp? Emerald Crabs? Any other interesting relationships where a fun member like a crab or shrimp works in this kind of tank?

Will the anemone kill snails/shrimp?

In my experience, shrimp tend to be fine with anemones, they even sometimes take their food lol Emeralds should be fine as well, they aren't really susceptible to stings. If I were you, I would get some hermits as well, they're super fun to watch. Another must for me is nassarius snails, they are just amazing CUC.

I tried doing a cleaner shrimp in my nem tank but the shrimp constantly was stealing food from the nems and irritating them. So I got rid of him

look in Porcelain crabs..they make good inhabitants for a nem tank

Any CUC that gets too close to the anemone could become a meal. My gigantea eat snails all the time.

As previously mentioned, porcelain crabs (Neopetrolisthes ohshimai, not Petrolisthes galathinus) are a nice addition, assuming your anemone is large enough.

Anemone shrimp (such as Periclimenes brevicarpalis) are also fun to watch, but make sure that you don't have fish that will eat them.

I'm not a fan of emerald crabs because there are rumors of rogue ones that attack anemones when hungry.

Yeah, I'm regretting my cleaner shrimp.... I think my tank and inhabitants are too small for it to have a function. So it just steals food from my corals and irritates them... Going to rehome him soon. As far as good CUC members look at blue tuxedo urchins (algae) and fighting conch snails (diatoms and sand stirring). Additionally like @Mr_Knightley mentioned, nassarius snails are great too.

Not sure what size tank you have, but I would get the Nassarius Vibex vs Tongan. Smaller and not bulldozers, I have 2 Tongans who are probably getting rehomed as well.

Urchins are a great add, especially if you’re not going to have frags for them to steal. Bonus with urchins is they’ll munch on coralline too, so you won’t have as much scraping to do.

I have a fire shrimp with RBTA. No issues at all. My shrimp actually hangs out on the RBTAs foot when he’s stretched out. Fun to watch.

I could recommend a brittle star. They really clean up the sand bed and aren’t fast enough to steal food from an anemone.

Never had an issue

I had a long spine urchin that caused injury to a magnifica. Now have a tuxedo with no issues.

Have a coral banded shrimp. The shrimp steal food from nems, so do hermits.

No problems with snails. Have to restock two times a year. Had to in a SPS reef as well, anemones didn’t make much difference. But the hermits definitely hunt them down.
