OK so I am looking to expand my CUC. What I want to focus on is the substrate for the most part. I have nothing in my tank that touches it, no fish, snails, or hermits.
HERMITS ARE FORBIDDEN IN MY TANK. I have been reading for the last few nights as I was set on nassarius snails but hear they can be preditory?? or that is becaude they are mistaken with a family member...(actually i am pretty sure thats what it is now) Anyway I am wanting to focus on the substrate for my 2 dead spots that form with food and fish waste.
1. Looks like I might need nassarius vibex. Anyone know of a place that sells these for certain???
2. Also heard about Conchs but certain species could be bad also.
3. Cucumber Im really not looking to add.
4. I might be okay with a Goby of some sort but was hoping not to have a sandstorm as I plan to put a lot of corals on the sand.
5. I am in love with shrimp but dont have any yet as I am waiting a bit for water to steady out, or think it may be ok???
Here is a little about my tank.
65gallon 36x18x24 with a 1-1.5" ssb.
Tank has only been set up for 2 months so not much life on rocks and such yet. Used base rock 65lbs
Stock:
2 true clowns
1 turbo snails
5 margarita snails
5 ceriths i think
and 2-3 nerits
I am looking to go to the store in a few days to pick up a few more snails.
Looking for any advice on substrate CUC
Thanks
Tim
